   Years ago after graduating from college I fell into the world of computer programming during the dot com rise. After long hours of sitting at a cubicle with very few breaks, my back began to give me grief. It got worse with biking and hiking which made my home life hell. My girlfriend (who's now my wonderful wife) told me to stop complaining and go see her chiropractor. Without hesitation, I took her advice because after all, her mom was a chiropractor and she'd seen them her entire life.

   I went to see Dr. Smith in southeast Idaho and was amazed at the great results I got. The best part about all of this was that I experienced drastic pain relief without drugs, surgery, or having blood drawn. As I went through care I discovered that chiropractic dealt with more than just pain. I learned that an adjustment had the ability to restore the biomechanical joint function and in the process, take abnormal pressure off of the surrounding nerves. When this happens, the nerve interference from the brain to the body is removed allowing you to live at optimum health. From a scientific background, this made total sense to me.

   These days I am blessed to help people with headaches, migraines, chronic pain, neck pain, shoulder/ arm pain, whiplash from car accidents, backaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, numbness in limbs, athletic injuries, just to name a few.

   You see, I went to the chiropractor as a last resort, and now I often see people who've come to me when they have tried everything. Here are two things I understand that just make sense. One the body is smart and is always striving to heal itself. And two, working with the body's inborn healing systems makes good sense. I'm a chiropractor, and I do things differently. My job is to get to the root cause of (many) health problems. Covering up symptoms with drugs may not make sense sometimes.

   You need to know that I don't cure anyone. Sometimes, nerve interference gets in the way of the body's inborn ability to heal itself.
